The Akkadian king Naram-Suen [2236 - 2200 BC] launched an  incursion into the Armenian Highland in order to fight the powerful kingdom of ARMANI or ARATTA. In the inscriptions that were made both in Akkad and in southern portions of Armenia, he gave the details of the military campaigns against the Kingdom of ARMANI around the area of Lake Van. It is interesting to point out here that, the inscriptions tell us that later a portion of the the warrior highlanders of Aratta would later descent onto lower Mesopotamia -- defeat Naram-Suen -- and secure their own rule over the Near East. The word Armani - an early form of Armen-Armin [Armen or Arman denotes the national affiliation, as with many cultures standing for the particular nation thus, the God AR being the primary deity in the Indo-European pantheon - thus AR MAN denotes -- Men of Ar or Children of Ar, again initially AR standing for ARAREL-ARARICH - Create-Creator and also means Sun, Light and Life. The Goddess Aruru or Arara later turning into a male principle, ultimately the binary [positive-negative] combination of both forming a harmonious union of the One. Armani is what still Arabs and other ancient peoples of the Near East call the Armenians. It is very important to note here that Plato, in The Dialogues..., also gives us an account of the Flood and the city of Atlantis -- the hero of the story is ER [UR-AR]...[UR-MENia -- AR-MANia -- ERIMENa]. In magnum opus -- The Republic -- Plato, one of the greatest philosophers of all time, accounts of the hero ER -- THE SON OF ARMENIUS, a brave warrior who true his outstanding noble character finds -- IMMORTALITY...The legendary ARA -- the dying and resurrecting Man who attains Godhood and Returns to the Father [the original Source of All]...
Here is the excerpt from the closing passage of The Republic [X, 614 b]  where Plato through the Myth of Er, allegorically alludes to the divine nature of Man and the sacred location for the attainment of Immortality.

"...A warrior bold, Er, the son of Armenius...He was slain in battle, and when the corpses were taken up on the tenth day already decayed, was found intact, and having been brought home, at the moment of his funeral, on the twelfth day as he lay upon the pyre, revived, and after coming to life related what, he said, he had seen in the world Beyond. He said that when his soul went forth from his body he journeyed with a great company and that they came to a mysterious region where there were two openings side by side in the EA-rth [symb. Twin Mount], and above and over against them in the heaven two others [celestial mirror - true Reality...], and that judges were sitting between these, and that after every judgment they bade the righteous journey to the right and upward through the Heaven with tokens attached to them in front of the judgment passed upon them, and the unjust to take the road to the left and downward, they too wearing behind signs of all that had befallen them, and that when he himself drew near they told him that he must be the Messenger to Mankind to tell them of that other World, and they [the Ascended] charged him to give ear and to observe everything in the place. And so he said that here he saw, by each opening of Heaven and Earth, the souls departing after judgment had been passed upon them, while, by the other pair of openings, there came up from the One in the Earth souls full of squalor and dust, and from the second there came down from Heaven a second procession of souls dean and pure..."

Yet another important piece of the puzzle that points to Armenia as the sacred point of origin of present civilization -- the Land of Immortality, a secret known to the ancients. Another very important author of the antiquity was Berossus, a Greek writer born in Bithynia and a priest of Bel[us] -- Baal [lit. lord]. He lived as early as the time of Alexander the Great to about 280 B.C. He wrote three books of histories called variously Babylonica and Chaldaica [Chald was the God of War of Ararat also associated with Haik]. They are believed to contain and the very ancient priestly chronicles of the temple of Bel in Babylon. In the preserved records Berossus points to Armenia-Armania as the Land of Four Rivers and the Land of Gods -- the place where humanity was born and through the portal of the Tree of Life [Garden of Eden] a gateway that reached the Stars and...Immortality.

A Metsamor hieroglyphic inscription marked with the double E-Esque Symbols. The same symbol would centuries later be inscribed in the Delphic temples of Greek Oracles. The Fifth letter E [half of perfect 10 among other meanings symbolic of the original zodiac made up of 10 signs [each divided into its own decan] and the ten letters of the primeval alphabet] pronounced just like the Armenian letter Ē - the Seventh letter of the Alphabet...was the sacred symbol of the Quintessence -- the four elements moved by the fifth principle. The + symbol [to the left of the four elements appropriately depicted in a mode of duality] in the sacred Metsamor hieroglyphic square, among other meanings connotes the union of the opposites [vertical and horizontal]. Similarly the open circle within the smaller square in the upper right corner connects the solar-phallic energy or the male principle  in a harmonious communion with the female principle -- symbolic of the primordial male principle within the female egg [binary union].

Centuries later, the tradition of the Land of Armenia as the pathway to eternity will be incorporated by the alchemists of the Middle Ages, who during the Renaissance rediscovered numerous ancient texts referring to this ultimate subject. This was in and of itself not simply a 'magical' fairytale concept. It was in fact taken from a primordial historical memory that was kept by the ancient scientists who were also known as the seers and high priests of wisdom. An example of this is the art of alchemy itself that in fact layed the groundwork and evolved into the discipline of modern chemistry. The same can be said of many other similar disciplines and sciences. The Quest of Immortality would come about with the alchemical forging of the philosophers stone [philosopher's Sun - symbolically represented by the Sun] known as the Armenian Salt [in Latin salarmenicum and pierre d'Armenie in French]. The Armenian salt was the quintessential ingredient without which the elixir of Immortality would not be made.

Philosophers hand, also known as the hand of the mysteries. The moon and the crown of the thumb are symbolic of astral heaven. The six-winged star of the index finger stands for the union of heaven and earth. The Middle finger's Sun is symbolic of the Armenian Salt -- representing the mind and the wisdom. The second finger contains the beverage of spirit [male principle]. The small finger contains the key-salt -- symbolic of the material realization of the mind and Idea -- and also Man's entry into the previously unknown. And in the palm within the circle of fire is fish symbolic of the water and fire -- creation.
