SASUNC‛I DAVIT‛

The monument of Sasuntsi Davit [David of Sasun] represents the hero of the Armenian national epic -- The Daredevils of Sasun]. The impressive statue was sculptured by the outstanding sculptor Ervand Kočar in 1959. The master had made the original statue out of clay in the 1940s, and later based on that model made the copper version that we see today in front of the Central Train Station of Yerevan.
