The settlement continued to expand until in 782 BC, King Argišti I built the outpost fortress of Erebuni, on the Aryn Berd hilltop, in the heart of the Ararat Valley. The King ordered a special cuneiform inscription to be made in order to preserve and verify his deed in the annals of history. The inscription tells us the time and place where the fortress was built, the fortress is called Erebuni [most probably deriving its name from the much older settlement of Aryn], the earliest phonetic form of Erevan or Yerevan, the name evolved and became the later.

A few decades later another fortress was built in the vicinity of modern Yerevan -- Teyšebaini -- City of Teyšeba -- named after Teyšeba or Tešub [husband of Goddess Xuba] -- second in the hierarchy of the Hurrian [Hur -- Fire -- Har -- Mountain] Supreme Trinity of the Ararat's exoteric Pantheon of Gods to be worshipped by the people -- Haldi [Hayk -- Orion Hal-di, Al-di] was the

Haldi is depicted [in the beautiful frescos of Aryn Berd -- Fortress Erebuni] as a bearded tall warrior standing on his sacred orbit -- the Lion -- the Temple of Musasir [Ardini] being the spiritual center of the Hurrian Supreme Deity -- Teyšub [second] was the Sky God of Wind and Rain -- and Šivini [the last in the Primary Triad -- after Haldi and Teyšeba] is the Solar God of Justice and husband of Goddess Tušpuea -- Šivini's symbol was depicted as the Solar God with arms raised to the sky and above the deity the winged sun disk and two birds one facing the East and the other facing the West [Sunrise and Sunset].

Teyšeba was depicted with a battle axe in one hand and a war hammer in the other -- symbolic of the ethereal nature of the deity. The fortress-city of Teyšebaini greatly improved the link of the trade routes between Teyšebaini and Erebuni.

The Teyšebaini settlement was thoroughly excavated and investigated by teams of archaeologists in the 1940s and 1950's. Numerous artifacts of various origins and cultures were unearthed, thus showing the extent of the network of trade and commerce that must have existed between the different city-states of the ancient world. Places like Mesopotamia and Egypt since time immemorial had very close connections with the Armenian Plateau -- the cradle of human civilization.

The settlement of Teyšebaini is located in the vicinity of Karmir Blur area of Yerevan. Among many accomplishments of the Armenian Civilization during this period was the construction of elaborate long water canals, in order to irrigate the fields of the hard working Armenian farmer. The canals were sometimes directly carved right through cliffs. The Armenian master builders had to bring life to the Land of the Mountains - a paradise that had to be fought for and maintained -- and Armenian indeed made 'bread out of stone.'
